Product Details

As a certified B Corp we get excited at the idea of using waste products to create something new, comfy and kind to the environment.  There are fresh, ingenious technologies popping up all the time but one that recently caught our eye transforms used plastic bottles into the comfiest mattress protectors.  Clever, hey?

Waste plastic bottles are gathered together and, using a clever process, are re-polymerised (scientific word for converted) into small plastic pellets.  These tiny pellets are then, rather miraculously, spun into a polyester fibre.  Trash becomes treasure during the final stage of the process, which is when these fibres are carded into a wadding by a crafty team here in the UK.

It’s this wadding which is used by our factory in Scotland to make some of the most comfortable and eco-friendly protectors that we’ve ever had the pleasure of… erm… squishing.  The wadding is encased in 100% cotton – 233 thread count for those who wish to know – and then sewn together to make pillow protectors in three sizes, standard, square and super king.  Consciously Quilted Pillow Protectors feature a simple envelope opening with a flap to keep your pillow in place.

Consciously Quilted Pillow Protectors can be washed at 40 degrees on a gentle short wash cycle.  They can then be line dried or tumbled on a low gentle cycle until thoroughly dry.  Do not use rapid or ‘ready to wear’ washing cycles and take care to avoid direct sunshine which can damage the fibres and cause yellowing.
